David Banner – The God Box (Album Stream)

It’s been 7 years since David Banner’s last LP “Death Of A Pop Star” with 9th Wonder. Since seven is the god number, he’s right on time.
Banner states of his new LP The God Box, “it’s more than an album, it’s an art exhibit. It’s sort of like a secret. It’s something that people are going to have to come to their own conclusions on. Everyone will get something different out of the album; and I’ll let the listener decide what that is.”
Stream The God Box below as features include Cee-Lo, Raheem DeVaughn, Big K.R.I.T, Black Thought, Trinidad James, WatchtheDuck & Big Rube and while Banner handles the production on half of the album, he also enlists production from DJ Khalil (Self Scientific), DJ Swiff, Chris “THX” Goodman and more.

Nas & Jack White Cover a 1920’s Blues Song (Video)

In this clip from the upcoming PBS documentary American Epic, watch Nas and Jack White perform a cover of “On The Road Again,” a 1928 Blues song by Memphis Jug Band. As Nas points out in the accompanying commentary, the similarities between the lyrics of the nearly 100-year-old track and today’s Hip-Hop are oddly similar considering the vastly different time periods: Read More…

KRS-One – The World is MIND (Album Stream)

KRS-One is back with a brand new LP, The World is MIND. The 15-track project features appearances from Shai, K.O.D and Janiece, and boom-bap production from Mlody, Paul Laffree and KRS himself. However, I’m puzzled at track #4, “Out For Fame”, being same exact track from his debut solo LP KRS One, just remixed with an OK beat that’s not as impressive as this original version.

Stream below and purchase via Bandcamp. Read More…
