Billboard is now reporting that Yasiin Bey (formerly known as “The Mighty” Mos Def) has scheduled his final U.S. performances before his final departure in the music business.

On Dec. 21st, Bey will perform at the Apollo Theater, and between Dec. 31st and Jan. 2nd, 2017, Bey will bid his farewell with performances at The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.

According to Billboard, these final four shows will allow the Brooklyn veteran emcee to perform music off his past discography, including his critically acclaimed Black on Both Sides, The Ecstatic, True Magic and The New Danger — with each night showcasing one of the respected LPs (along with new music) and “surprise special guests.”

Apollo Theater executive producer Kamilah Forbes revealed in a statement to Billboard: “We’re so excited to collaborate with the Kennedy Center on what will be a milestone moment in not only hip-hop history but also in popular culture.”

Yasiin Bey and Ferrari Sheppard announced that they’ll drop their debut album Dec 99th in a couple of weeks. The album was produced over the last several months that Bey has been stuck in South Africa over a misunderstanding involving immigration documentation. Just last week, it was announced that his legal issues have been resolved and he is now allowed to leave the country, although he won’t be allowed back.
