Watch Both De La Soul Documentaries (Video)

De La Soul’s new album and the Anonymous Nobody ends up topping Billboard’s Rap Charts in its first week.

Following the monumental moment in their career Dave, Maceo and Posdnuos have teamed with Mass Appeal for a new documentary, De La Soul is Not Dead. A 30-minute short film, the doc chronicles the lengthy journey from Long Island’s so-called “hippies” to one of hip hop’s most influential artists. Spend lunch break knowing the ledge.

Another documentary, “We’re Still Here (Now),” is available below. Props to 2dbz.

Returning to the music world with their first full-length studio release since 2004’s The Grind Date, De La Soul released their ninth album And the Anonymous Nobody to the delight of their longtime fans.

Aided by a crowd-funded Kickstarter campaign, Posdnuos, Dave and Maseo chronicled the project’s entire journey in a documentary titled We’re Still Here (Now). From the creation of the album to their touring exploits and everything in between, this 30-minute “documentary about nobody” serves as a perfect accompaniment to ATAN.
